Ski Drinks: The Tasty Way to Après

Ski Drinks: The Tasty Way to Après

Après-ski, or having a drink after a long day on the slopes, is a popular pastime. We'll dive into what après-ski is, and showcase some drinks you can order at the bar or make at home.

Nov. 10, 2022

What Does Après-Ski Mean?

Quite literally, après-ski is French for “after skiing,” so our French heritage makes us natural-born experts. Typically, après-ski encompasses any social activities or entertainment after a time hitting the slopes. Those activities will often include some after-skiing drinks.

What Are Good Après-Ski Drinks?

Really you can drink whatever you want after a long day of skiing. But typically there are three types that might work best: seasonal winter flavors, heated drinks to help warm you up and a classic cocktail that’s always in fashion.

The Grey Goose Fireside cocktail, a grapefruit and maple vodka drink.

1. Sip on Seasonal Flavors

It’s a winter wonderland outside, and you can enjoy some festive flavors inside. When you’re back at your cabin, try making the Fireside, Holiday Martini Cocktail or Peppermint Froth. If you don’t want to bring a lot of ingredients with you, you can also just bring a couple with our two-ingredient cocktail recipes.

2. Warm Up with a Cup

It’s freezing out there — wrap your hands around a warm mug of a cocktail when you get back. The hot drinks Warm Apple Cider and Winter Scarves will do the trick.

3. Order like a Pro at the Ski Lodge

If you want a drink directly off the slopes, stop by the bar and order a classic cocktail. To help you feel like a pro, check out how to order a martini cocktail. If you’d rather make one at home, learn how to make it yourself exactly to your liking, or break out a ready to serve Grey Goose Classic Martini Cocktail in a Bottle.

And of course make sure you always drink responsibly, especially when you’re out in a new environment like the mountainside.

There are so many ways to après. The next time you get done with a day of skiing, you’ll have no shortage of drink ideas to cap off your time on the slopes.
